Cookie Diet Update

I've been trying (VERY hard might I add) to not have any cookies this month as you know; and it hasn't been easy at all! When my family came down to visit last week, they brought me a tin of homemade cookies that Jean Guy made for me - thanks that makes it so easy to not eat them then they're homemade and in my apartment, not to mention when my mom constantly asks how I like them. So I ended up relapsing two times this month to eat those cookies Jean Guy made; once with Emilie (and mostly cause I think she just wanted them so she told me I could have them, or as she said "these don't count as cookies" haha) and then the next day I lounged on the couch and ended up eating the rest of the tin. So there's no more of those delicious cookies so I can't be tempted anymore right? NO! Yesterday while on campus streaming tv, there was a group of people at the couches beside Emilie and me eating boxes of cookies! RUDE! And then when I went to leave and throw out my garbage, there is was, sitting on top of the trash, calling my name with it's sweet sugary shape was the empty package for cookies! They're everywhere! Always tempting me! I avoid the isle at the grocery store that has cookies cause it's too hard and thankfully the one time I was forced down that isle to pick something up, they were restocking so the giant trolley was blocking all the cookies from view! It's almost the end of the month and I think I did pretty decently, but F it's hard! I couldn't even imagine never having them again!

Cookie Diet - Day 1

So I decided to stop eating cookies for the month and today was day 1. I bought a tub of cookies on monday to eat before today as a last hurray for cookies, but I wasn't able to finish them and there's still half a tub staring me in the face this morning calling out to me. I'm doing this for a couple reasons but one is that I want the body so I have to give up the cookies to get said body....or at least until I've got the body and then it'll be easier to maintain after; therefore have cookies again. Also, a month without cookies will make my stomach issues a billion times better, cause let's face it....it's not like the boxes and boxes of cookies I eat (in one sitting) are wheat-free or anything. Other than the cookies on the counter (which I won't throw away so don't suggest that!), the day was good. Didn't really have any major cravings. Hopefully the rest of the month goes as well.

Cookies

My biggest addiction BY FAR is cookies! They're my favourite food group and I can't imagine earth would be a happy place without them. This being said...I've been trying for awhile to not go ape shit every time I buy cookies and eat them all, and I've been trying to ration them. I must say I've been doing really well at this; limiting myself to 2 or 3 cookies in a day and some days none at all! I know! And no there's nothing wrong (Emilie always thinks there's something seriously wrong with me health wise the moment I refuse a cookie). Today when I came home from using the university's internet all afternoon, all I wanted was cookies. I had 3 and then tried really hard.....but had 3 or 4 more. And then I cracked! I totally relapsed and my almost month of hard rationing and conditioning went down the drain! I ate all the cookies that were in my cookie jar!! They were SOOO yummy! But after, I felt bad that I had eaten them all when I was doing so good. I decided that come June 2nd when Emilie quits smoking, I'm going to give up cookies (don't freak out yet people) for a month! (Like I could ever give them up for life!!). I'm going to be cookie free in June, that's the plan ladies and gents. The reason has nothing to do with my insanity, it's for my health and self discipline. Emilie and I will be able to keep track of how our addictions battles are going and motive each other. Granted hers is a way bigger feat. I'll keep you up to date with my cookie free month when it approaches and till then, I'll keep eating the delicious circular slices of heaven; although I plan to wait a couple days before buying a new package (or two).

Mom's Cookie Packages

They always say the first step is admitting you have a problem. Well I have a problem. I am addicted to cookies! Cookies are my favourite food group and there is nothing in the world that tastes better than cookies! I can eat them all the time, any time (except when I'm sick. That's how you can tell something's wrong with me lol). And I have the best mother to enable my addiction. It started when I was leaving to university in 2006 and my mom and just gotten me a cook book called "The Cookie Bible". She knew that living in rez that I wouldn't be baking cookies so she foolishly, but to my SUPREME HAPPINESS, promised me that she would bake and send me a batch of cookies every two weeks. And she did! Every two weeks I would be excited to see that paper slip in my residence mailbox saying I had a package. I'd take the box upstairs and quickly open it to reveal what marvels laid inside this package. This Marc's Mom's Package ritual because a pretty well known hoopla on my floor and it was common to have 3 or 4 people in my room to see what she had sent "this time" (they also knew they'd be offered cookies if they were around lol). And every parcel had a new type of cookie from The Bible. Then after moving out of rez into my first place with roommates, I though the cookies would stop; they didn't! Mom's cookie packages still come (and still come!) very frequently; sure they don't come on a regular 2 week schedule anymore, but they still come! I think mom knows that cookies have a hold over me that I can't get out of (not that I'd try to escape the delicious babies). When I'm depressed or stressed, I get cookies. When I'm happy and loving life, I get cookies. When I've not been home in awhile, I get cookies. Hell I got cookies last week and then today I got a package in the mail and the only thing in the box?......cookies! My mom and her boyfriend made cookies for me and my siblings (I think every once and awhile she feels guilty for not sending them as many lol) and she sent a batch to my friend Lacey in St. Catherine's. This isn't the first time she's sent cookies to friends of mine, and I doubt it's the last. I love having such an enabling mother and that her partner believes in enabling my habit too! I started this batch of cookies and I imagine they will all be gone by the end of tomorrow (if they make it till then), and I'm already looking forward to the next batch! I become animal like when the cookie boxes arrive and pretty much tear everything apart just to get to them (as you can tell from the photo). So if anyone needs anything from me....just give me cookies and I'll do it!
