California Take 2

So a few weeks ago, Emilie and I headed back to California cause we are hooked now, and also cause we hadn't seen each other for awhile so we could hang out.  We stayed at the W Hollywood hotel on Hollywood and Vine!  The hotel was amazing!

Despite the fact that Continental Airlines delayed our flight and lost our luggage and lied to us around 14 times in a span of 8 hours, causing me to spend our first  day and night in Hollywood in my work scrubs since I came directly from work....we had a great time (not with Continental though).  We spent the beginning of the trip in Hollywood where we did some shopping, drank a lot, hung out every day with Brandon (who's SUPER amazing and can't wait to go back to see him) and his friends and went out clubbing.  We saw Mario Lopez at the Grove Shopping Center (and man does he look old in person!)

The first night in town...Emilie and I decided to get some booze for the week at the Pharmacy.  We almost died!  They had 40s of bacardi rum for $17.00!  We ended up leaving (this is the part where we may sound like alcoholics) with a 5 litre box of wine, a 40oz of rum, two big bottles of gaterade and a box of cereal for less than $30!

The trip was amazing!  We went to Mr. Blacks to go clubbing one night (that was a very sloppy night!). And then the next morning we headed off to Disney Land for the day!!  Disney was crazy! Even though it was freakishly cold in Cali, the day was amazing!  I REALLY wanted to meet Micky, which I didn't get to do, but it was so awesome!  We were going to stay the night at the Disney hotel until they said the only room left was $450 before taxes for a plain room.....so we stayed at a Holiday Inn (or something) in Long Beach.

The last day of our trip was American Thanksgiving (which we didn't know till we got to LA), so Brandon drove us to Suzie and Jimmy's (Emilie's cousins) so we could spend the last day with them and be a part of their Thanksgiving dinner party plans.  While waiting to go to dinner, Emilie and I walked to the beach and talked while we watched wild dolphins playing in the water.  Then dinner was amazing!  I don't think I've ever (and possibly will ever again), be in one place with so many different bottles of wine and champagne being drank!  The food was amazing and so were the people at the party.  And then we slept and Emilie and I made the long-ass day trek back to Ottawa (cause I worked the next morning).

We've already talked about going back in May :P

Thanksgiving Ridiculousness

Last week I started orientation for my new full-time nursing position at the Hospital here and on top or that had things most evenings and that is why I've been MIA again and not blogging...cause my life has been CRAZY!  BUT....last weekend was Thanksgiving here in Canada and again, that weekend was ridiculous!  I didn't go home to Timmins since Lacey was coming in town to have Thanksgiving with her family here and I haven't seen her in awhile so figured I'd stay to see her and then since I wasn't supposed to work this week, I'd just go home for a week to visit friends and family back home.
Lacey's bus was 3 hours late so she only got in to Ottawa after 3am, so naturally I went out and got really drunk and rather than going to bed when she was here (cause I had orientation again the next day), I stayed up till after 5am talking to her....which led to me being about an hour late for orientation.  I had a Thanksgiving supper at my bro's place with my sis and my bro's gf and his roommates.  The supper was actually REALLY good!  Then I went to Lacey's aunt's place and after our hot-tub I ended up crashing there for the night.  The next day I went to yoga (more for the instructor than the actual class, but the class is good too lol).  Bekka had her first party at her place in Hull so I went to that and it was decked out! Projector screens with lasers and candles everywhere and a plounge (pillow lounge).  It was so sweet!  And the people there were so chill and cool.  I left before they went to the bar cause Cassie was going to my place to predrink before we were to head to Edge to go dancing and celebrate with Laurice since it was her last time going dancing before she moves to Elliott Lake on saturday.  After a very dangerous ride on the back of a scooter by someone who just got the scooter that day and still didn't know how to drive it and me without a helmet and almost dying....I got off and got Cassie to pick me up lol.  We went to my place and downed our booze and headed to the bar.  We danced up a storm and saw the person I had gone on a date with earlier that week chatting it up with my ex - that was interesting lol. I met a guy from a an MTV show and he surprised me a LOT and is actually SUPER sweet and nice!  He's also hilarious and was making Cassie and I die laughing at his jokes.  After kicking Cassie home (sorry again Cass), the weekend just continued at this ridiculous pace!  Another Thanksgiving supper at Lacey's Aunt's, and another afternoon with "Mr. Nice Guy", then back to the real world and had to have my last orientation day monday.  And that my friends was my Thanksgiving.....minus a few details ;)

Hangover From Hell

Yesterday was the hangover of death. I woke up from a night of drinking and dancing to the party still full throttle in my brain with the pleasant aroma of stomach bile in the air. despite the somersaults that my stomach was performing, I should probably be kinda thankful that I made it home; although, this may only be thanks to Emilie who walked me home via the phone. After vomiting a couple times after leaving McDonalds after the bar, I then began my long-ass walk home (NEVER walking home again when that drunk!). I have no clue how long the walk took me but I definitely was getting annoyed with Emilie who kept calling me whenever I hung up on her cause I just wanted to lay down in the park or someone's yard and sleep for a bit. I did however manage a cat nap on the comfy lawn of some unsuspecting house owner but that nap was cut short when my phone started ringing again and I got up and pretended like I had never stopped walking when I answered to Emilie again. Somehow or another I made it home alive. The entire next day I was on my couch; almost never moving from the three cushions I had claimed as my hangover place of choice, only getting up to pee a couple times and to grab water and to pay the pizza man when he finally showed up. The pizza was my food for the entire day except for the cucumber I ate like it was a popsicle. Emilie showed up in the early afternoon so we could co-hangover on my three cushions while watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer episodes - only moving to readjust to become more comfortable. I discovered that my feet/toes are VERY dexterous and can pick up pretty close to anything within range and so there was definitely MINIMAL moving. Finally around 8 or 9pm Cassie called and we made plans to go for a walk and since Emilie and I had been living-dead for the entire day...we thought that since it had cooled down and we were feeling a lot better, that it was time to make our appearance outside. The walk was perfect! The weather was awesome, we walked way further than any of us really planned to and it made me feel a little more human. I've been hungover many times after drinking; usually I feel it to some extend (since I'm so old haha), but I haven't been as bad as this hangover in a LONG time. Hopefully another hangover from hell isn't for another really long time!

Family Gone

My family picked Lacey up this morning at 6:30am and made their 8 hour trek homeward. Yesterday morning Lacey and I went for breakfast with my mom, her boyfriend, my grandma and my sister. After breakfast, Lace and I walked home and stopped in a few sex stores along the way trying to find good, cheap porn. We made it home, then took a nap and when we woke up we went into cleaning overdrive and cleaned my entire apartment, laundry and all. We cleaned the apartment because I had my family over for a dinner party. The party was awesome! Lacey helped me out sooo much with cleaning and prepping for supper. The fam loved dinner and everything and then lacey and I kept drinking till Ricky was ready to come over. Then we went to Ricky's friend's bday party for a bit. When we left my apartment, Ricky was backing out of my parking lot (he was sober) and we heard his car crunch and my response was "don't worry it's just a tree. Keep going". To which Lacey replied "Uh, no, it's a metal fence!". My bad. After the bday party, we picked Emilie up and went to Mercury to go dancing. Fun night, not so fun waking up at 6 so Lacey could leave. I'm happy I got to see them all since it's been 6 months! Can't wait to see them again at the end of the month. And hopefully Ricky's luck gets a little better! haha.

24 Hour Recap

This is my 24 hour recap of what I've done...woke up still drunk from the awesome dinner party at Derek's and then going dancing at Patty Boland's. So I took the morning slow, including lazing on the couch watching Will and Grace and trying to rehydrate the screaming cells in my brain. I tidied the apt a bit before Emilie came over (we hadn't seen each other in like a week and a half, but felt like a month) and we drank a bottle of chardonnay while watching Sicko and talking. A bottle and slight retoxication later, Emilie had to leave to catch her bus to have supper with her family. Pretty much as soon as she walked out my apartment, my mom called to say that my family was downstairs (thanks for the warning! lol). I went downstairs to greet my mom and my baba and mom's bf and my sister. My mom brought a bunch of stuff from back home for me, so we brought the stuff upstairs and did a quick tour of my apartment for them. As they walked out of my apartment to head back down the elevator my mom says "you know we're going for supper, is that what you're wearing?" I was told that dinner reservations were for 7:30, not 6 (the time it was) to which she replied "ops, I thought I told you the change of plans. We'll grab stuff or get ready really quick, we'll be in the car". So a change of shirt and pants, a little hair paste and I'm heading down the car with a spare toothbrush in hand. We went to The Westin, and mom and baba changed to be ready for dinner at Milestones with my brother and his girlfriend (Jess) and her family; Dave and Jess got back from Australia the night before and that day was Jess' grad. After dinner, we went to Dave and Jess' place where they gave each of us something they picked up from Australia - they got me a really nice Quicksilver shirt. After that I spur-the-moment went and grabbed Blizzards with Ricky from Dairy Queen! Haven't been there in forever - it was delish, but medium was way too big after dinner and without the gym for two days (don't worry I made up for it today in the dungeon cause I know you're all worried lol). Chilled at home after the DQ and Westboro car-cruise; again watching W&G. Today I pretty much lazed around, planned the dinner party I'm having with my fam at my place tomorrow and set up LACEY COMING TO VISIT ME!!!! My friend Mike is in Ottawa and his truck is back home in Timmins and he needs it so he's been desperately looking for someone to drive his truck down for him. So since Lacey just got home from St. Catherine's and I haven't seen her in forever she's going to do it and it works perfect cause she'll get in tomorrow in time for my dinner party, then wednesday we'll hangout all day and go dancing at HUMP night, then Thursday she's gunna get a ride home with my mom. I CAN'T WAIT! I'm currently sitting on the patio at Bridgehead (to use their internet and get my caffeine fix) while I wait for when my mom is ready and then I'll head over to The Westin to take my baba out for dinner; it's going to be a INTERESTING time with her that's for sure, but I'll update you on that tomorrow when we see how it goes. Emilie and Laurice are having their convocation today (SUPER happy for them, not so impressed that I'm not with them) and I'm expecting and planning to go out after their done. The day's beautiful out and so many of the people I love are here or coming and I'm in a great mood! Loving Life, hope you are too!

Emilie's BIRTHDAY!!!! (the recap)

Saturday was Emilie's birthday and it was such a great day! I met up with her and Jess at her place and silly-stringed the shit out of her apartment (and dog) haha. Then we made drinks and headed to the park to chill. I quickly realized I forgot my wallet and had to walk all the way back home to get it. Walking home usually takes an hour one way on a good walk, but I forgot that it was race weekend and I first rand through a walking race, only to find on the other side of the road a 5k race in progress with literally thousands of runners and no break in them to run through. I was waiting for 25 mins on the side of the race wanting to cross. I then walked home and finally got my wallet and called a cab to bring me back to Emilie's. We drank mimosas while starting supper at 7:30. Laurice came over and helped make supper (it was a team effort) while she did Emilie and Jess' hair. We ate an awesome supper of grilled veggies (that were supposed to be on skewers but for simplicity we just grilled them lol). After supper we headed over to Laurice's for the most amazing cake I've ever seen someone make! It was beyond delicious (and not just cause we were hammered since we had some the next day and it was just as good!) After more drinks and cake and a little playing raunchy board games, we headed to La Maison to meet up with Caroline's goodbye party and have pitchers of beer. After beer pong and seeing a bunch of friends, it was a great night! We headed to Johnny's for food then all departed our own ways home. I even managed to not elbow Emilie in the face for possibly the first time ever in my sleep! It's as if I knew that it was still her birthday and she should have the night off of bruises! lol. We woke up the next day and all met at Moondog for brunch and it was a great way to finish Emilie's 23rd birthday!

Recap of Cinco de Mayo party

Last night I had my Cinco de Mayo party and it was pretty fun! I wanted a low key fun time with a few friends drinking the night away and that's what it was. I was making margaritas for people, I made guacamole for my first time (and it was really good!) and later in the night I made another mexican dip and I switched from making margaritas to making green apple martinis (Lacey and I haven't touched the shit since a couple years ago when It raped our lives the day after). To finish off the night, I had a bottle of wine and we ordered pizza. We all chilled in my living room talking, telling stories (Bekkah even brought out my old year books :S). Great times with great friends, and I don't think my neighbours hate me! You all should come next year when I'm Mexican for another day!

Feliz Cinco de Mayo!

Feliz Cinco de Mayo!! I'm super pumped for this day! Not only do I get to celebrate my Mexican roots, but I can drink margaritas and coronas with friends at my Cinco de Mayo house-warming party that I'm having later! I'm pumped for my friends to see my new place and to catch up and drink without worrying about exams and life shit....let's just be Mexican for the day! I hope my neighbours don't hate me tonight though :S It's a pretty quiet building and I think I may already be the loudest one. O well, it's not like I have parties all the time! And I mean come on....it's Cinco de Mayo!!
