Katy Perry's Peacock redone

California Take 2

So a few weeks ago, Emilie and I headed back to California cause we are hooked now, and also cause we hadn't seen each other for awhile so we could hang out.  We stayed at the W Hollywood hotel on Hollywood and Vine!  The hotel was amazing!

Despite the fact that Continental Airlines delayed our flight and lost our luggage and lied to us around 14 times in a span of 8 hours, causing me to spend our first  day and night in Hollywood in my work scrubs since I came directly from work....we had a great time (not with Continental though).  We spent the beginning of the trip in Hollywood where we did some shopping, drank a lot, hung out every day with Brandon (who's SUPER amazing and can't wait to go back to see him) and his friends and went out clubbing.  We saw Mario Lopez at the Grove Shopping Center (and man does he look old in person!)

The first night in town...Emilie and I decided to get some booze for the week at the Pharmacy.  We almost died!  They had 40s of bacardi rum for $17.00!  We ended up leaving (this is the part where we may sound like alcoholics) with a 5 litre box of wine, a 40oz of rum, two big bottles of gaterade and a box of cereal for less than $30!

The trip was amazing!  We went to Mr. Blacks to go clubbing one night (that was a very sloppy night!). And then the next morning we headed off to Disney Land for the day!!  Disney was crazy! Even though it was freakishly cold in Cali, the day was amazing!  I REALLY wanted to meet Micky, which I didn't get to do, but it was so awesome!  We were going to stay the night at the Disney hotel until they said the only room left was $450 before taxes for a plain room.....so we stayed at a Holiday Inn (or something) in Long Beach.

The last day of our trip was American Thanksgiving (which we didn't know till we got to LA), so Brandon drove us to Suzie and Jimmy's (Emilie's cousins) so we could spend the last day with them and be a part of their Thanksgiving dinner party plans.  While waiting to go to dinner, Emilie and I walked to the beach and talked while we watched wild dolphins playing in the water.  Then dinner was amazing!  I don't think I've ever (and possibly will ever again), be in one place with so many different bottles of wine and champagne being drank!  The food was amazing and so were the people at the party.  And then we slept and Emilie and I made the long-ass day trek back to Ottawa (cause I worked the next morning).

We've already talked about going back in May :P

Nights Out with Cassie

The Wednesday before my mom and grandma came to town last week, Cassie and I decided to go out dancing (as we do often on Wednesdays when we're both off).  We both dressed up and had a "party" of our own in my apartment before heading out to Mercury Lounge to dance the night away.  It was one of the most fun times out dancing together we've ever had (and trust me...there's a lot).  The night ended with my just a BIT under the influence....to the point where when I ran down my apartment hallway, my pants fell right to my ankles and I tripped and busted out laughing.  I was put to bed and the end of the night is a day-in-the-life of an Alzheimer patient.  GREAT night!

Get Outta My Way - Kylie Minogue

Growing up....

Last weekend I was "growing up" by finally graduating university.  My mom and grandma sat in the audience at the National Arts Center for two hours to hear my name be called as a graduate for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program from the University of Ottawa and to watch me walk across the stage, shake hands with the Chancellor or the school (didn't know we even had one of those) and then shake hands with the President of the University, and walk off.  It was nice to finally be done and I'm happy that my mom now knows how to text so that we were able to text each other throughout the entire ceremony, but the best part of the day was lunch where my sister and her boyfriend Tony came as well as dinner where my brother and Jessica showed up.  It was really good to see my mom and grandma again since it's been awhile and I'm still not sure when I'll be back home next to see them.

Anthony and Jess' Wedding

Two weeks ago I went to Brampton for my friends Anthony and Jess' wedding.  I got to meet up with my friend Dan (aka Brampton) and we went for supper to catch up since it had been a year since the last time we hung out.  Then the next day was the beautiful wedding where Jess looked amazing - and Anthony looked decent haha.  The bar was open and so was my belly to receive all the booze.  At then end of the night, a bunch of us went to Moxies for some more drinks, then to the hotel to bed because Kaitlyne and I had to leave the next morning super early to head back home (I had to work the sunday overnight).  It was a great time to see old friends, party and celebrate Anthony and Jess' wedding!  Congrats guys!

Katy Perry's - Firework

This is Katy's newest single where she stands on a rooftop and has Lady Gaga inspired exploding bosoms which eventually turn into Care Bear-like fireworks shooting from her tummy.  Having said this....I really love this song.

Day to Wear Purple in Honour of the Bullied Teens

Today's been chosen as the day to wear purple in honour of the 6 teens who took their lives because they were bullied about being gay or because they were thought to be gay; as well as for all teens bullied for being gay.  Everyone should wear their purple to show that these kids are not alone!  Purple represent "spirit" in the Pride Flag and that's why we're wearing purple.

I'm wearing my purple (even underwear).....are you?

Here's Chris Salvatore's latest song that was released just the other day called "It Gets Better".  It's a little long, but I think it's an intensely great song.

Thanksgiving Ridiculousness

Last week I started orientation for my new full-time nursing position at the Hospital here and on top or that had things most evenings and that is why I've been MIA again and not blogging...cause my life has been CRAZY!  BUT....last weekend was Thanksgiving here in Canada and again, that weekend was ridiculous!  I didn't go home to Timmins since Lacey was coming in town to have Thanksgiving with her family here and I haven't seen her in awhile so figured I'd stay to see her and then since I wasn't supposed to work this week, I'd just go home for a week to visit friends and family back home.
Lacey's bus was 3 hours late so she only got in to Ottawa after 3am, so naturally I went out and got really drunk and rather than going to bed when she was here (cause I had orientation again the next day), I stayed up till after 5am talking to her....which led to me being about an hour late for orientation.  I had a Thanksgiving supper at my bro's place with my sis and my bro's gf and his roommates.  The supper was actually REALLY good!  Then I went to Lacey's aunt's place and after our hot-tub I ended up crashing there for the night.  The next day I went to yoga (more for the instructor than the actual class, but the class is good too lol).  Bekka had her first party at her place in Hull so I went to that and it was decked out! Projector screens with lasers and candles everywhere and a plounge (pillow lounge).  It was so sweet!  And the people there were so chill and cool.  I left before they went to the bar cause Cassie was going to my place to predrink before we were to head to Edge to go dancing and celebrate with Laurice since it was her last time going dancing before she moves to Elliott Lake on saturday.  After a very dangerous ride on the back of a scooter by someone who just got the scooter that day and still didn't know how to drive it and me without a helmet and almost dying....I got off and got Cassie to pick me up lol.  We went to my place and downed our booze and headed to the bar.  We danced up a storm and saw the person I had gone on a date with earlier that week chatting it up with my ex - that was interesting lol. I met a guy from a an MTV show and he surprised me a LOT and is actually SUPER sweet and nice!  He's also hilarious and was making Cassie and I die laughing at his jokes.  After kicking Cassie home (sorry again Cass), the weekend just continued at this ridiculous pace!  Another Thanksgiving supper at Lacey's Aunt's, and another afternoon with "Mr. Nice Guy", then back to the real world and had to have my last orientation day monday.  And that my friends was my Thanksgiving.....minus a few details ;)

Bullying Leads to Suicide

The news all over has been splashed with titles of suicide after suicide of youth taking their lives due to their inability to cope with the never ending bullying that they endure.  It's not the beginning of this, and suicides like these have gone on before - for too long.  It seems like lately it's been happening in overdrive; the reason - bullying gay teens.  Teens who are gay or who others assume are gay have been and continue to be targets of ceaseless bullying in elementary and high schools all over North America and the eduation system still does little to ACTUALLY prevent these things from happening.  All these schools talk about a "no bullying" or "no tolerance" policy regarding acts like the ones we've heard so much about lately; however, very few schools actually do anything to put an end to it.  I think the recent news shows that if there's a time for schools to finally step up and step in, it's now.  Go ahead and have your "no bullying" policies, but actually act on them when theirs complaints.  First time it happens, send the bully home.  Second time it happens, suspend the kid.  If you act instead of talk, bullying will slow down and not be as rampant as it is, where bullies know they can get away with it.  But the problem is...so do the people that are getting bullied.  They have no one to protect them and help them.  They turn to what, at that time in their lives, seems like the only way to get away from all the pain they endure.  It needs to stop.  All these stories about bullied kids committing suicide break my heart cause I was there when I was younger and bullied.  I know what it's like to want it to stop and think that the only way to end the hurt is through suicide.  Thankfully, I was able to make it through thanks to one person that I met in Grade 10 and if it wasn't for her I don't think I'd be here.  But now that I'm where I am today, I'm happy I've made it.  I can say without a doubt that it DOES get better even though it doesn't feel possible.  Here's the clip from Ellen about one of the latest stories.

Yoga Week

This past week, Santosha Yoga on Elgin was celebrating their 1 year anniversary and as a present, they were giving free classes all week!  I haven't gone to yoga in a little while so I thought it was about time to get back into it again.  Monday I went with my friend Bekka to a Yin yoga class that was not too bad and we made plans to go to a special Acro-Yoga on Friday.  We arrived for that and were super excited! Acro-yoga is a partnered (and sometimes a group) yoga that's kind of a mix between yoga and dance and you work with your partner's body to do positions.  It was hands down the most fun yoga class I have ever done!  The stuff we were doing was ridiculous!  Straight out of cirque de soleil!  Flying poses (like the picture) and headstands on each other's body and not the floor, a giant group roll into downward dog.  It was just SO much fun I want to do it again badly!  Bekka and I, and Bekka's friend Diena said we're going to practice to get our core stronger since it's a huge core exercise and then hopefully we'll be able to go to the workshops in November that are put on by our teachers' yoga teachers from Montreal who choreographed Cirque de Coleil in LA!  Ridiculous fun!  Then to finish off the week of free yoga i went to a "hangover yoga" class yesterday afternoon.  It was a really good class and I'll definitely go again next week, but let's just say that it was too intense that I could NEVER do that class if I actually was hungover! hahaha.  I'm pretty pumped that I'm back into yoga again after taking a hiatus with my crazy busy month, now it's all back on track.  And if anyone ever gets the chance to do acro-yoga, DEFINITELY do it!! So much fun, but you usually need a partner.
(This is a picture of the flying Superman pose that Bekka and I were doing, but this is not the two of us, it's just a pic I got from Google.  And Bekka could hold me up and make me fly too!)

To Pose Nude or To Not Post Nude...That is the question

So I was talking with some friends the other day and we were discussing art classes and posing nude for art classes.  The idea was brought up to pose nude for people to sketch.  The class pays the model $75.  The model doesn't get to see the drawings when completed, which I'd really like to see.  So, when it was suggested that I pose for a class, it got me wondering....am I comfortable enough with my body and in my own skin to put it all out there for any rando from a public art class to oogle my goodies to put down on paper?  Do I feel comfortable being a "David" model, or despite my appreciation for my body, do my insecurities hold me back from allowing myself to be expressed in the nude while artists in training hone their human body sketching skills?  I wonder, how many people are comfortable enough with their bodies that they would pose nude for a public art class?  So I thought I'd put up a survey to see what the consensus would be.  Feel free to comment as well.

Lady Gaga's "Prime Rib America" Speech

Lady Gaga held a rally in Portland, Maine to bring more media attention and awareness, and to put pressure on Senators Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, to vote tomorrow to put an end to Don't Ask, Don't Tell.  More than 2000 attended and protested alongside Miss. Gaga, to rally against a law that hopefully in the near future, rather than later, people will look back and think how barbaric a law it was!  How could such a powerful, educated nation have been SO STUPID!?  How was this still a debate in 2010?  I'd like to think that Don't Ask, Don't Tell is fundamentally opposite to what the true "American Way" is - but I guess we, the rest of the world, are seeing and laying witness to what the true "American Way" really is.  Hopefully they prove us wrong soon.  While the rest of the world shakes their head at The United States and says "that's just America", and begin losing faith (if they have not already), there's still many who hope and have faith that America will FINALLY do the right thing and be a true leading nation in the world and not only talk the talk regarding equality for all (as their constitution says), but they will soon walk the walk as well.  I have faith, but I have great disappointment that it's taken them this long to realize that this thinking, is really no different that than thinking and beliefs of many of the nations they war with.  Grow up, and own up America!

Now here's Lady Gaga's speech that she gave....

International Talk Like a Pirate Day!!

Ahoy!  Arrrrr Matey!!  Today be the day to celebrate and speak like a dirty swashbuckler!  September 19th is the official Talk Like a Pirate Day!  The day was started in 1995 by two guys - John Baur and Mark Summers - during a game of racquetball when one of the guys fell and cried "arrg!".  And this holiest of holy days was created!  It's kinda a lame thing, but hey...at the very least it's another excuse to drink!  Guzzle yar grog like a wooden-pegged buccaneer!

Fair winds me hearties!

University of Ottawa and their never ending obstacles

So I'm finally done all school for my Bachelor of Science in Nursing!  I'm SO happy that I don't need to worry about homework anymore!  Although, these last two courses during the sumer have been probably the two hardest and most stressful courses just because all the obstacles Ottawa U kept putting up.  I CONSTANTLY had to be on top of the secretariat office to make sure they were doing THEIR job properly in getting me registered to write the RN exam for October 6th.  And now, Ottawa U does it again!    The biggest obstacle yet!  I went to the secretariat on Friday just to see when they would be sending my marks to the College of Nurses (since my marks were all done now) and so that I could send in my form for my temporary nursing license to start my full-time job in October and somehow, this was the first time that the secretariat realized that the Senate isn't meeting to "approve" graduations till October 16th!!  The marks NEED to be to the College by the 5th!  So as of right now, NOBODY at Ottawa U who was planning to write their RN exam on October 6th can!!!  I'm so stressed and don't need this!  I'm sick with a cold, trying to study, while at the same time stressing about this and trying to figure out everything I can do to put pressure on the school to sort this out ASAP since this isn't screwing up my schooling anymore...this is my life!!  Already this is screwing up when I'm starting work since it takes 15 days to process my license from the time the school sends in the marks to the College.  All I gotta say is...they better figure this shit out fast!!!

Lots has happened over the past month....

So once again I've been MIA for a bit - this time a little longer than I have to date. I've been gone for about a month now because I've been doing a lot and super busy. Shortly after my birthday, Emilie came from Toronto to stay with me. We left the last weekend in August to go to my cousin Valerie's wedding in Elliot Lake. Since Emilie doesn't have a driver's license, I had to do the entire drive myself. We left at 6:20am on friday morning in the rental car Toyota Caroloa that we named Lola, and got to the Lodge where the wedding was happening at 4:30pm. We stopped for 2 hours to visit Emilie's grandparents in Sudbury, where they fed us and we hung out for awhile. After getting lost only once as predicted, we ended up finding our way on the VERY sketchy narrow highway with no lines, through the forrest in the middle of nowhere to find Laurentian Lodge. We got the suite cabin that my family was to stay in for the weekend. My mom, Jean-Guy, Baba, Aunt Vicky and the newest addition to the family Joey had just arrives minutes before us. We unpacked while Dave, Jess, Steph and her date Kevin showed up. Then the craziness of the weekend began.....

The booze definitely flowed throughout the weekend, with drinks and a bbq with campfire the Friday night, the wedding night Saturday (with open bar) and then Sunday night with the familiy before leaving Monday. Our family definitely were the crazies at the wedding, but I think we were the fun ones :P Emilie, Baba and I were the last three on the dancefloor at the end of the night before heading back to the cabin where I would "walk the dog", which really entailed me walking from the back deck to the front door and passing out on the bench holding Joey's lease while he chased rocks. Then when Emilie woke me, I went into the house when a bat flew in! In my drunken state I figured I could catch it so there I was walking around the house with a giant fishing net, now shirt on but my dress pants still on, trying to find the bat - which apparently ended up in my mom's room lol. Steph slept on the floor of the bathroom so we didn't have to worry about a bucket for her lol. Great times! The drive back, we stopped again in Sudbury at Emilie's grandparents' and had lunch there. Then I left on my own to finish the rest of the trip while emilie stayed to visit with her family.

Shortly after getting back to Ottawa, Emilie returned and Ottawa u's frosh week started and Emilie, me and Laurice were Safety Ambassadors for the week - basically we took care of drunk first years and made sure nobody died and that everything was safe. I think the fewest ambulances were called ever. The week was exhausting and I got a cold half way through (and am still getting over it now). Now, frosh week is over, I'm back working as usual and Emilie is leaving tomorrow to head back to Toronto after living with me for the past month. It's going to be really weird for her to leave again. It's like she's leaving Ottawa all over again. :(

I am super excited to be able to see and hang out with Cassie again since I've been INSANELY busy and not been able to see her!! And I'm looking forward to some calm relaxing time now that everything is dying down. I'm also pumped for this cold to go away!

This has been my past month, and tonight is the end of the Emilie in Ottawa month and we're going out with a bang - Laurice, Emilie and I are going drinking!!

Crazy Cabbies!

On wednesday Cassie and I went out dancing to have a great night! She had to finish work first so she only got to my place at 11:45 and so while we quickly got ready, we have 4 cosmos. We cabbed to the bar with a really nice cabby. Got the the bar and had a few double rum and cokes and danced up a storm (as usual). SO much fun! Even though the DJ once again played HORRIBLE music. At the end of the night we got some money at the ATM since we had no cash - Cassie had to bargin with the doorman to let both us in for $7 cause that was all she had, and we put drinks on my tab. We flagged a cab down and then this other cab came up and started yelling at us and the other cabbie saying we have to get in his cause he was next in line at the cab stand (that I didn't even know existed and we weren't near the cab stand). We ended up going with our nice original cabbie and on the way home he was talking to his dispatch who said he was going to be suspended so Cassie drunkenly took the wakie takie and talked to dispatch to tell "her side of the story" lol to which the dispatcher replied "I don't care, nothing you say will change anything". RUDE! We got home, I gave the cabbie my number incase they wanted my story the next day (hoping I'd even remember taking a cab the previous night lol). We went upstairs and started drinking more cosmos and chilled listening to music, on the balcony (since my neighbour is gone - hopefully not cause I'm too loud) and then hung out and had random fun times till 7am! I went to change the cd and was like "ummmmm Cassie? The sun's up!" lol. When she sobered up, Cassie drove herself home and I passed out and was dead to the world the next day - didn't want to leave my bed. I went to hang out with Marcel in the evening at his new apartment and he was like "I have beer and rum" and all I asked was...."you have any tea?" hahaha. Great times! Should be just as fun tonight when Cassie takes me out tonight for my birthday last weekend.

Little Sis Steph's Birthday!

Today is my little sister Steph's birthday! Yeah, it's the day after mine - she was supposed to come the same day as me but my mom told the doctor she was waiting till the next day cause she foresaw too many issues later in life. Yesterday Steph and I went for lunch to celebrate my birthday and no we're going to plan something when we're both free to celebrate her birthday. She's turning 20 today! Even though we live in the same city, we hardly ever see each other. We go to the same school, we were in the same program and she even followed my footsteps into student council and went as far as to keep our family of presidents of student council (I warned her not to! lol). I hope she has an awesome birthday! I wish that her year is great and not too stressful or difficult and that she enjoys every moment of it cause it goes by super quickly! Love ya Steph!

Rihanna the Role Model - Love the Way You Lie

Here's the new "Love the Way You Lie" music video and I think it's decent; although I love the song! I also love Rihanna and Eminem. The thing I think is ridiculous is how everyone keeps giving Rihanna flack because she's not a good role model blah blah blah, and she shouldn't make songs like this blah blah blah. It's an amazing song! And all these people giving her shit are just giving her more publicity which is only going to make her career that much better. And what gets me is how people are saying how she's not a good role model - you have to choose your own role models! Just cause someone's famous doesn't mean they're your role model! Eminem isn't my role model even though I love his music! Yeah, she isn't the best picture women when it comes to battery or the messages around that....THEN DON'T HAVE HER AS YOUR ROLE MODEL! FACK! People are stupid in giving her shit, that's all I'm saying. I love Eminem and I love Rihanna. Enjoy the video....

Goodbye Sapphire

Wednesday night was my friend Elliott's birthday party and so I met him at his apartment.  The thing is....I knew the street that Elliott lives on, but since I was only at his place once after getting wasted at the bar, I had NO CLUE which apartment was his.  So I walked up and down the block, creeping in bushes looking in windows trying to see him to know which place was his.  It scared the SHIT outta him when he looked out the window and saw me in the bushes - but I found his place!  We left his place and headed to our friend Tim's apartment to drink and have a good time hanging out before heading to the bar for Sapphire Champaign's last retirement show.  After some wine, some champaign, some.....other stuff to put us under "the influence" and then a lot of rum and coke, we headed out to the bar - all ready for a crazy night.
After many more drinks at the bar and lots of dancing and a great show from the drag queens, I was D.R.U.N.K.  The night got crazier after the I left the bar and I finally got to sleep around 6am.  I woke up in the morning to my apartment looking like the picture of domestic violence (if this offends you, pretend I said it was messy lol).  The couch was seperated all over the living room, the living room table was by the front door, clothes on the balcony and all over the place, dirty nacho plates in bed with me, and just a ridiculous night - BUT I LOVED IT!

Ridiculous Long Weekend

As I sit in my living room drinking my ice water with lime (almost makes me sound classy), I am just thinking about how crazy my weekend just was....

Friday afternoon Brett came in from Kingston to visit. We went to see Inception in IMAX and it was INTENSE!!! It BLEW my mind! That entire movie pretty much IS my brain's thoughts when on shrooms! CRAZY! And after the movie we picked up groceries for supper and got back to my apartment where we were greeted by Caundy who came in from Kingston also. I made supper while they went to pick up liquor for the night. Supper was awesome (from my new vegetarian cookbook). Then we began drinking and two of Caundy's friends came over to party with us before we made out way to Liquor Store to dance up a storm! At the end of the night, the car ride back to drop us off at my apartment was possibly the highlight of the night! We (and I mostly mean me) danced up a storm in the car, stood up through the sunroof like it was a limo and danced my heart out to Waka Waka by Shakira. We did a drive by twice around the block when we noticed a hot security guard that waved at us, before we finally got dropped off at the apartment and headed to bed.

After very little sleep, Brett and Caundy left and headed back to Kingston. I on the other-hand got picked up by Angelique and Ashley and headed to Carleton Place for the night to party with the hicks at the Jamboree (said in a British accent). We drank at Ashley's boyfriend's apartment before heading over to the carnival where we were the crazy, drunken 25ish year olds that everyone wasn't impressed with....it may have had something to do with out throwing our shoes at each other while the rides were going, or the fact that Sean and I were spitting from our ferris wheel seat onto Ange and Ashley's below us (and sometimes hitting the people behind them). GREAT carnival times! Then we headed into the Jamboree and I only remember two song playing....the first when we got there and then the second cause we made a drinking game of every time she said "Jesus" in her song we had to drink (which was like 15 times) and then our convos got way too deep to pay attention to the music.

On our way back from the Jamboree, we went to a bar where the bartender ordered me to chug the drink that he made wrong for Angelique, then Ange and I TORE UP the VERY sticky dance floor! We showed them dirty Dominican style dancing and I'm sure they thought we were dirty whores lol.....SO.MUCH.FUN. On our way home from the bar, we pretended to rape each other and some of us got injured through biting or falling off the picnic table, or mimicking the falling from the table, but the ENTIRE night was ridiculous! I remember waking up at one point and Ange and I were in bed, on top of the nicely made bed, fully clothed and I don't remember how we got there. Apparently Ange and I passed out on the couch together after Ashley and Sean had gone to bed when we kept drinking and then Ashley came to see why the living room light was still on and told us we should head to bed. Then after beening rudely awoken by some high pitch alarm going off and not knowing if I should evacuate or what was happening (it turned out to just be Sean's alarm clock), then Cassie drunk dialled me from Vegas cause she just got home from the bar with Christine and Tara (it was 8am here lol) and thankfully I was just alarmed awake lol. So we chatted for awhile before she had to go. I went back to sleep only to wake up still drunk. Headed back into town (hungover at this point) to meet Laura and Ryan for lunch at Tuckers. Then finished the afternoon with some Rideau Centre shopping before heading back to the apartment while the others headed back to Carleton Place.

The weekend was RIDICULOUS and soooo much fun! I'm sure I'll be catching up on sleep for about a week! Today's Ange's birthday, so happy birthday freak! And I hope everyone else had a crazy long weekend too!

Lay with me and just forget the world.....

Today is one week till I will get to see Emilie again! I'm going to Toronto just for the night on the 9th because Cassie, Tara and Tara's boyfriend are going to the Paul McCartney concert (ya I know, super jealous!) but it gives me an excuse to go down with them and see Emilie!! I'm super pumped! The last time I saw Em was about a month ago over Jess' birthday when we rented a cottage near Peterborough for the weekend; so this will only be the second time seeing her since she's left Ottawa in June. I know that once we both have money coming in, we'll be able to visit each other more often, but it's not easy in the meantime. So, I'm posting this song and the pics of Em and I from my photobooth on my MacBook Pro as a mini celebration for the 1 week till I get to see and hang (and of course drink) with her again! :) Miss You!

My Friend Oscar....

The other day I was chatting with my friend Oscar (my politically incorrect friend, not the grouch) and I asked what I should blog about and his first answer was about "my awesome friend Oscar", so I said I would blog about Oscar, but I can't lie and tell people he's awesome. We met through friends a couple years ago and had partied in the same vicinity on a couple of occasions but never actually got to know each other very much (even though i went to his going-away party before he moved to Spain last year).
Then he moved to Spain and we started chatting online fairly often and quickly because great friends who have similar perverted and sick senses of humour; even when I was in some of the shittiest moods, talking to Oscar would make me laugh out loud with his rude/inappropriate jokes and comments about minorities lol.
Now he's finally on his trip back towards this great Canadian country and after the chats we've had online, I can only expect that now in person we will be great friends too....maybe even take over the world! (In which case EVERYONE who's not perfect should beware, and this includes YOU!)

Ellen & Portia

Ellen and Portia are the epitome of love in my eyes. The way they look at each other and smile at each other, you can see that it's true love and god it's what I would love to have - "Ellen and Portia love" with someone! This is my dream.....

I'm a blogging slacker

It's been pointed out to me by some people that I've been a slacker in the blogging department lately. I wish I could tell you that I've been INSANELY busy so I haven't had time, but that's not really true. Ya, I've been busy, but not SO busy I couldn't post shit - just lazy really. I've been trying to organize everything for my RN exam that I write in October for my nursing license and that's been a little bit of a headache, but it's almost all organized. Not to mention working on the assignments for the online course I have to start and finish in August to graduate. Then the lawsuit over the car accident that I was in on March 22, 2009 appeared out of nowhere last week and it's been a crazy time trying to organize legal stuff for that and figure out what's going on (thankfully it's being taken care of, as of yesterday!). I've also decided to start practicing my Spanish every morning while eating breakfast and it's day 3 and going well - well, it's better than day one where Angelique and I had an hour and a half discussion about a 4 word sentence. By the time we go to Spain we're going to be SOO correct with our grammar! haha. So here it is folks...me back on the blog-train! lol. I have a blog I will do about spirituality and philosophical questions, but I don't want you all to think I left and came back crazy, so I'll ease you into that. Hahaha.

Kelis - Brave

My day....

I went with Cassie to Bluesfest last night to see Keith Urban. We brought a blanket and just chilled on the ground with our drinks, sitting in-front of the giant screen while waiting for her friends Tia and Tara (and their respective parties lol). The concert was great....the drunken-high dancing guy beside us, not so much. At one point Keith came through the crowd to play at the center which was about 10 feet from where we were sitting. After the concert and after much deliberating about what Cassie and I should do, we ended up going to her home and walking around her neighbourhood and went through the water park. We finished off with some OC and ice cream cake :) Since I was passing out from only having 4 hours sleep after my night shift the previous night, Cass drove me home where I came into my apartment and in the black place (didn't turn the lights on cause my mom and Jean-Guy were sleeping), after walking into numerous things, I crashed on the couch. At 6am when my mom and JG were leaving I woke up and went to my bed to continue my sleep. I was woken by a call to cover part of a shift tonight (which is awesome) but I knew that something was wrong with my right eye. And yup, I was right....pink eye! Of course I'd get pink eye when my stomach issues have been going CRAZZZZY! lol. After meeting Carli and Amanda to catch up at Bridgehead, I went to the clinic (that was closed of course lol). So I decided to use the computers in the library since I was already on campus, but the library was close of course. lol. So I bussed home, finished my book and ate, then talked on the phone for awhile with Lacey about our Europe Trip 2011. And now....I sit and wait for the time to come to head to work. Clinic tomorrow perhaps? haha.

Auntie Loo Takes the Cake!

Auntie Loo takes the cake….well…I do….but she baked it! Auntie Loo Treats Ottawa on Bronson has a summer promotion going on where when you follow @Auntie_Loo on Twitter, she will tweet a cake flavour and then the first person to email auntieloo7@gmail.com get’s that cake the next day for $30; HOWEVER, here’s the even more awesome part…when you get to the bakery you draw a piece of paper to see if you’re going to be lucky enough to win the cake for 50% off!! This is the first cake that I’ve had from Auntie Loo’s and I can’t wait to try it! I got a chocolate gluten-free cake, and if it’s even half as amazing as the various cupcakes and coffee cakes I’ve tried then it’s going to be phenomenal! I highly recommend (I’d force you if I could lol) that EVERYONE hits up her store and tries something. There is a warning however….you will more than likely fall in love; not only with Mandy but the delicious treats as well! Check her out!

Introducing Sex Into a New Relationship - cont'd

I was watching Brothers and Sisters all last night during my night shift and there was a part of an episode that made me think of this question about how many dates before sex thing. In the episode, one of the women who was dating the guy hadn't had sex even after having gone out numerous time (the exact number wasn't mentioned). The couple did say they wanted to go slow; however, her family was giving her a hard time about not having had sex with him yet. There was comments made that "if he hasn't tried to jump your bones yet he must be gay", "or he has an STD". Shows you.....even pop culture tells us that we should be having sex shortly after (and sometimes before) dating.

Introducing Sex Into a New Relationship

I was just talking to my awesome friend Angelique and we were discussing what "the general rule" is for how many dates into a new relationship before it's "acceptable" to have sex. She had said that she told a co worker 3 and her co worker pretty much gave her the "you're a huge slut bag with a loose vagina" look and so Ange has asked me and Lacey to get our opinions (possibly not the two greatest individuals for this question lol). I told her that 3 or 4 seems "normal" for most "normal" people but that it should be whenever feels right whether that's the first day or a month in (two months is too long....people lose interest haha). And Lacey too apparently gave the 3 date rule. So now, I wanna know what others think.....is the 3 date rule really acceptable? Or are my friends and I just crazy horned up fools who can't seem to restrain ourselves? How long is "acceptable"?

The Mobster is Back!

So Ottawa's biggest mobster is running for mayor again....Larry O'Brien. Not only is he back (makes me wanna barf) but he also probably had the BEST announcement speech for his return.

Ricky Martin take 2?

So incase you've been outta the loop...Christiano Ronaldo is now the proud papa to someone's baby. He announced the new on the brink of the World Cup finishing. He tweeted about his new baby and how the mother's identity will be kept from being made known and that he has sole guardianship of this child. To me, this kinda sounds a little too familiar...isn't that pretty much what happened with Ricky Martin when he became the father of his twins? Although, Christiano definitely has had his share of the female companions, but I'm just saying...it's a little similar. I'm just waiting to see his baby and if it's as cute as he is....maybe the baby has washboard abs too!? hahaha. Either way, I don't care whether he legitly can't find the woman of his dreams or if he doesn't even want a WOMAN....but if this turns into a Ricky Martin take 2....I told you so!

I am Cookie Monster!

Day Before an Exciting Weekend

I stayed late at Cassie's last night to keep her company since she needed to stay up since she started her first night shift tonight. After a stop at Dairy Queen, a couple Hell's Kitchens and some other shows (I can't remember what we watched after anymore lol), she drove me home at 3:30am. I woke up not feeling amazing, my allergies were going a little whack, my breathing wasn't the best, I had pulled my hip flexor muscles for the first time ever and they hurt like a bitch and on top of it all, it was another humid, muggy day. Thankfully it rained off and on throughout the day which cooled the air OUTSIDE my apartment; so after I swept and tidied my apartment (cause my mom and Jean-Guy were coming to bring my stuff) I went outside in just my shorts and stood and danced in the rain and cooled down. I hate how outside is so much cooler than in my apartment....like, can't the air just come inside too? All my windows are open and my dinky fan is going, but you'd swear the air isn't moving AT ALL! What do I have to do?!....invite it in!? Consider this the official invitation for the outside air to circulate into my house..........

Dear Outside Air,

You are cordially invited to entertain me in my apartment by breezing throughout the day. I would greatly appreciate if you would attend my apartment as this place just isn't as enjoyable without you.

Yours greatly in need,

Marcus Roman Kusiak

So my mom and JG showed up and my mom left a huge mess all over my entire apartment from dirt on her sandals but I can't complain too much since she brought me stuff I needed from home and JG made me a bed! The bed is awesome! He is insane and told me it only took him 3 hours to make! I was told it is VERY study and that he made it with extra support so like 4 people can be in it no problem and he made it so that it won't squeak at all......sounds like they know my sleeping patterns all too well! PERVS!....I clearly mean I toss and turn and have grand mal seizures nightly (I don't actually move almost at all when sleeping and I realized after I wrote it that the seizure part isn't really that funny....especially if you have epilepsy...so if you do - Sorry). Now I'm back in my apartment, getting all sweaty (not in any kind of fun way) and going to ice the cake I baked to bring to the cottage that I'm going to for the weekend with Jess, Ryan, his friend and Emilie and Jenna. I'm SOOOO PUMPED!!! THe cake is cause it's Jess' birthday tomorrow, and we got a cottage instead of camping which I'm also mega pumped for! It's going to be a crazy time (although there will be no blogging for the weekend but when I come home I will update you on all the ridiculous details!) Have a great weekend everyone!
